People with developmental disabilities face a lot of adversity, even requiring special services to their individual needs. As we work to make the world a better place, several local groups are also working hard to make life simpler for people with developmental impairments.

The Arc Downriver is a membership-based organization working directly with children and adults facing developmental disabilities. The organization works hard to promote their choices, introduce opportunities, and provide the support these folks need to feel valued within the community. They provide many resources to empower individuals, such as organizing different sports and advocacy events, fundraisers, painting classes, and more!

It’s our responsibility as community members to support organizations that genuinely try to improve people’s lives.
